Home: Portland, Oregon, United States
About Me: I've always enjoyed writing, so long as it's something I know about - like me. I'm a student. A mother. A sister. A homeowner. A perfectionist. I try to keep them as separate as possible, but sometimes they intertwine - which is NEVER a good thing. I love shoes. I love dancing, although I don't really know how. I love loud music, bonfires and the occasional glass of beer. I love my family. I love my life. And ever so slowly, I'm learning to love myself.

I sat down to figure out my finances. Where is all of the money going? When I noticed a big fat negative sign in my checkbook, I thought I should investigate. I have been doing my best to be frugal, hitting all of the clearance sections instead of paying full price. Obviously it wasn't helping. So, I made a list of my recent purchases:
Coffee for me @ Krispy Kreme - 4.00 Coffee for me and mother-in-law - 6.00 Garage sale find - 1.00 Thrift Store find - 4.00 Coffee for me - 3.55 Candles - 9.00 Gas - too much, I need to stop driving around Coffee for me and daughter - 8.00 Anniversary Gift - 15.00 Lamp - 5.50 2 more lamps - 6.00 Hardware to hang mood lighting - 2.00 More Candles - 2.00 Tan purse - 6.50 Brown purse - 8.00 (almost bought a black one too) Makeup - 2.00 Birdseed - 6.50 Grand Total = 89.05 $$ Wasted = 63.55 $$ Well Spent = 25.50 $$ I didn't have = 89.05
There must be some way to curb this need for spending. Is it retail therapy for the something missing in my life? Oh - I suppose you want to know what the something is. I believe it's my sisters. As much as they drive me crazy after a few days - I miss them terribly. |
