Name: Crazy Bitch
Home: Portland, Oregon, United States
About Me: I've always enjoyed writing, so long as it's something I know about - like me. I'm a student. A mother. A sister. A homeowner. A perfectionist. I try to keep them as separate as possible, but sometimes they intertwine - which is NEVER a good thing. I love shoes. I love dancing, although I don't really know how. I love loud music, bonfires and the occasional glass of beer. I love my family. I love my life. And ever so slowly, I'm learning to love myself.

| Summer Begins |
| Monday, June 14, 2004 |
I don't know how I am going to survive. It has been four days since school let out for the summer and I am already going crazy. "Mom, can (friend) spend the night?" "Mom, can I go to (friend)'s house?" "Mom, none of my friends are home, what am I going to do?" "Mom, he turned the channel and I was watching that!" "Mom, can we rent a movie?" "Mom, she hit me!" "Mom, can we have a cookie?" "Mom, can I play Nintendo?" "Mom, can we have some ice cream?" "Mom, can I play Sega?" "Mom, can we have a snack?" "Mom, can I play the computer?" "Mom, I'm Booooorrrrrred!"
I thought it would get easier as the children got older. Hmmm. I guess not. It doesn't help that we haven't really had summer weather yet. The nearby park isn't as appealing when the gray clouds are threatening to let loose at any moment. I am definitely counting the days til rainy season is over.
I did get a slight break yesterday. My son and youngest daughter created some makeshift guns to play S.W.A.T. It was quite humorous to see them running around pointing chunks of styrofoam - an "upgrade" from squirt guns. The only thing missing was their usual S.W.A.T. stickers that they usually have taped to their chests. They even stayed outside for a WHOLE HOUR - so long, that I felt the need to check up on them. As I peered out the window, my "Lara Croft" daughter was on her knees as my son repeatedly bashed her head with the butt of his styrofoam shotgun, (with sound effects, naturally) and "Lara" was going through the appropriate motions to make it look real.
My first thought was, "They're playing together so nicely..." |
