I try to keep them as separate as possible, but sometimes they intertwine - which is NEVER a good thing. I love shoes. I love dancing, although I don't really know how. I love loud music, bonfires and the occasional glass of beer. I love my family. I love my life. And ever so slowly, I'm learning to love myself.

| Happy Anniversary |

Today is an anniversary of sorts. Sometimes this day goes unnoticed. Sometimes it is remembered. Sometimes people don't care. But to me - this day is important. Today is the anniversary to the day I quit smoking - eight years ago.
When we break a habit, our lives turns upside-down. Be it nicotine, caffeine, or simply a bad relationship - our world will never be the same. It will take every ounce of strength to turn away, every ounce of strength to not look back. Need will start fighting with Want until we are so drained of energy and just want to surrender. To succumb.
Such battles are a necessity to life. We need them to learn, to grow, and to just make life interesting. Those of us which are strong enough -survive. We pick up the pieces and move on - knowing we will never forget.
Embrace and celebrate these little victories with me. Each one of them helps us to become that much stronger. |
